I've ordered a program called your baby can read today. The infomercials make it look amazing. Toddlers who really are reading. I could read at age 4, and
I've always LOVED books and words, but I think its harder with boys. I want him to be a good reader because I think good reading skills are what determine
whether school is hard or easy, fun or work. SO I'm going to give it a shot. Any thoughts?

with a mom as bright as you are I think he will have no problems ................never seen anything like it in UK so can't really comment............I
felt my kids grew up to read and enjoy books because we read to them as much as we could ................what have you got to lose
Just my opinion Mary xxx |

I love reading and can't understand people who don't get pleasure from it.
Saying that my boys are SO far behind - it's always a huge issue to get them to read at home. So instead we have to play lots of games instead like the dreaded i-spy lol I hope it's good Amy Debs x |

I'll keep you posted. I know what you mean Debs, I've ALWAYS loved reading and couldn't wait to read, but my brother always struggled with school
and didn't enjoy it. Intelligence wise, he is way smarter than me but just never really fulfilled his potential. So....I really want my little one to get
as much of a head start and strong early skills so he will not loathe school and learning.

Amy, I have seen documentaries of wiz kids at the age of 3 and 4 being able to read and even distinguish presidents, etc. Those moms started with acoustics in
the womb even. I say go for it. I am sure it can only make a positive difference. And, as you say, reading comprehension is the main skill needed for excelling
at school. You will definately have to keep us informed of his progress and how you feel this has helped him.

Sounds spot on Amy, I'm a strong believer in helping kids where-ever you can. Yes boys do struggle with words so much, math(s) is their forte. It's to
do with the difference between the male and the female brain, says alot really

Nothing really hurts but from my own experience with my boy, read to the child everyday even now and they come out really great readers. Nick is about two
levels ahead of his group and really loves to read. His state test this year was amazing as he came out at a 99% better than his school, county and state that
took the same test last year. He loves math as well his only real weakness is his ability to write and spell well.

Definitly worth doing Amy!
My twins love books, and we read to them pretty much every day. But we are focusing on teaching them languages; we are hoping they will learn 3 - French, English and Susu. From what I've read, it shouldn't be a problem for them. Being fluent in French has been a wonderful thing for me and opened up so many things I would of missed otherwise - including meeting my husband!!! I would love them to have a passion for languages too.

We've got the program. It consists of DVDs, books and word cards. The research that is discussed in the parents' guide makes a lot of sense to me.
We're giving it a shot.
